Description\Story :

Work your way up a sky scraper, one floor at a time. This map is part of a community project known as CBP (Duke Hard). Duke's job is to locate the blue Key card and progress to the next floor above. Can you find the key card without drawing a lot of attention to yourself? There's no quick way up or down 100 floors especially when the elevators are out of commission. Good luck Duke! If you would like to play this map in Single Player mode please play it in the EDuke Duke Hard Mod Episode. This map is found on the 13th floor in the Duke Hard Series and it can be downloaded from here:

http://www.moddb.com/mods/duke-hard

This map caters to Duke Death Match, Co-Op & Single player Modes.

This map has been tested with the Classic Renderer, Polymer, Polymost and Megaton renderers. For the absolute best results, play in Polymer at the expense of your frame rate. This map was never intended to be played with the HRP, while possible be warned the art gallery may look a bit more lively/broken with HRP enabled.

There are 3 game play methods to playing this map:

1) Those who play like Rambo and enjoy the challenge by setting off motion sensors. (Also works well with CO-OP)

2) Those that like to sneak around, by doing the level in reverse order, not killing a bunch of stuff, but doing the objective. (Getting to the next floor)

3) Avoiding the motion sensors but still doing the objective in normal order.

If this is your first time playing one of my Duke 3D user maps you're in luck! This is probably the best all around Duke 3D map i've made to date. But do check out my earlier maps intended for Eduke with Polymer as the use of TROR and Polymer lights are present in those maps.

Have fun!

* Construction *

Base : Map is based on Cage's Floor Template.
Level Editor(s) Used : Mapster
Art Editor(s) Used : None
Construction Time : 4 Months (Start Date: January 26th 2014 - May 26th 2014)
Known Bugs/Problems :

1) This map works with Duke 3D Megaton! There are a few quirks but no show stoppers. For instance, the alarm will only sound once and won't repeat in Megaton.

2) Floor aligned sprites don't retain their shading, typical classic bug in the original Duke3D.

3) There is a clipping issues with sprites being visible through one sided walls they occasionally flash or disappear.

4) The Polymost renderer has the odd sector flashing glitch from the ROR and this is just a limitation of using an old renderer.

5) If you get shrunk around the sprite staircase Duke is able to walk through blockable sprites around the stairs and he can also get squished by the blockable sprites when he goes back to his normal size. Beware!

If you're playing using the EDuke Polymer renderer you shouldn't encounter any visual problems.

This map hasn't been tested with any mods.

Now go Play!
