# PART 1 - FOUNDATIONS
# =============================================================================

Tut_FoundationsIntro_1 Hello, and Welcome to the first part of this tutorial!
Tut_FoundationsIntro_2 This part of the tutorial will guide you on how to use the Camera, introduce you to the User Interface, and show you how to build your first room using some of the tools provided.

Tut_FoundationsExplain_1 To move the Camera use the WASD Keys or the Arrow Keys on the keyboard. You can also push and hold the mouse wheel to move the Camera. Try this now!
Tut_FoundationsExplain_2 Alternatively, you can move the mouse to the edges of the screen to move the Camera in that direction. Try this now!
Tut_FoundationsExplain_3 To zoom the Camera use the Q and E Keys. You can also use the scroll wheel to zoom in and out. Try this now!

Tut_FoundationsExplain2_1 Good. Now, before you took this call you may have noticed the User Interface. There was a bar on the bottom with a bunch of pictures, a clock, and some other stuff...
Tut_FoundationsExplain2_2 I'm going to close the call so that you get a chance to examine it a bit more. Don't worry, I'll call back!
Tut_FoundationsExplain2_3 [Answer the Call when you're ready to Continue]

Tut_FoundationsExplain3_1 I hope you got a good look at them! So, let's start the with the most important one: The Bottom Menu Bar.
Tut_FoundationsExplain3_2 The Bottom Menu Bar contains everything you need to create and manage your prisons. Not only can you create buildings, but you can also furnish your rooms, hire staff members, and more.
Tut_FoundationsExplain3_3 However, some of the buttons will be greyed out which indicates that a pre-requisite has not been met. For example, the Bureaucracy button requires you to hire a Warden first.

Tut_FoundationsExplain4_1 Next important is the Top Info Bar.
Tut_FoundationsExplain4_2 It contains key information about your prison like the current balance, how much profit you're making per hour, how many prisoners are on the property, and more.
Tut_FoundationsExplain4_3 Keep in mind, some of this information is hidden when you first start. They will only display themselves when certain criteria are met.

Tut_FoundationsExplain5_1 Next is the Todo List.
Tut_FoundationsExplain5_2 The Todo List also contains helpful information about your prison. It will display details on the number of prisoners hungry and fed, prisoners awaiting solitary confinement...
Tut_FoundationsExplain5_3 and it will also display pending objectives from Grants you have accepted, among other things.

Tut_FoundationsExplain6_1 Finally, the Clock.
Tut_FoundationsExplain6_2 The Clock not only helps you tell time, but also tells you what is currently scheduled to happen on the regime.
Tut_FoundationsExplain6_3 Additionally, you can control the speed at which time moves forward by clicking on the buttons under the current regime period.
Tut_FoundationsExplain6_4 Alternatively, you can use the Spacebar Key to pause time, and the 1-3 Keys for normal, fast, and faster time respectively.

Tut_FoundationsUIComplete Perfect! Now you know how to navigate the camera, and you have a basic understanding of what the user interface is. So let's build something!

Tut_FoundationsBuild_1 This is where we're going to start our first building.

Tut_FoundationsBuild_2 On the bottom menu bar, there is a button called "Foundations." Use it to construct buildings. You'll have a choice of Brick or Concrete walls, but it doesn't matter which you choose in this tutorial.

Tut_FoundationsBuild2_1 So construct a 10x10 building for me inside the dotted "marching ant" lines by Left-Click and Dragging the foundation.
Tut_FoundationsBuild2_2 Don't forget to put a door after you layout the foundation! You can find the door in the Objects menu.
Tut_FoundationsBuild2_3 If you ever make a mistake when placing an object, simply Right-Click on it to cancel the job.
Tut_FoundationsBuild2_4 By the way, when you click on an object in the menu, a ghost of it will get attached to your mouse. In this state, you can rotate the object by clicking the mousewheel or by pushing the R Key.
Tut_FoundationsBuild2_5 Once you place the object down, it can no longer be rotated.

Tut_FoundationsBuild3_1 If you're still wondering, these little guys are your Workmen. They perform multiple very important jobs in your prison.
Tut_FoundationsBuild3_2 Not only do they construct your buildings, but they also install the furniture, appliances, electrical wiring, water pipes, flooring and interior walls.

Tut_FoundationsBuild4 They will repair any damaged object back to working condition.

Tut_FoundationsBuild5 They'll collect any delivery that comes from a Supply Truck, and store them in a Deliveries Zone.

Tut_FoundationsBuild6 The Workmen will also take Garbage from within your prison and store them in a Garbage Zone.

Tut_FoundationsBuild7 Finally, your Workmen will collect any material or object that is lying around and take them to a Storage zone.

Tut_FoundationsExpand_1 Now let's go a little further with this foundation.
Tut_FoundationsExpand_2 The room you've created is a little bit too small for me. So I want you to expand it a bit more.

Tut_FoundationsExpand2_1 Create a 5x10 foundation here. However, I want you to layout the foundation plan OVER the existing wall of the other foundation.
Tut_FoundationsExpand2_2 This will automatically demolish the wall, and merge both foundations together. Give it a go!

Tut_FoundationsExpand3 Good! Now I want you to add another foundation next to the original. Except this time, I don't want any of the walls to be demolished.

Tut_FoundationsExpand4 Create a 6x10 foundation here. Remember, don't layout the foundation plan over the adjacent wall. And don't forget to add a Door!

Tut_FoundationsConclude_1 A job well done architect!
Tut_FoundationsConclude_2 You've learned how to use the camera controls, what the user interface is, how to build and alter foundations, and a few extra things too!
Tut_FoundationsConclude_3 I think it's safe to say that this part of the tutorial is finished, and there's still lots more to learn.
Tut_FoundationsConclude_4 [Created by: Richard "RGeezy911"]

# =============================================================================
# PART 2 - MATERIALS
# =============================================================================

Tut_MaterialsIntro_1 Hello, and Welcome to the second part of this tutorial!
Tut_MaterialsIntro_2 This part of the tutorial will guide you on what the different Materials do.

Tut_MaterialsExplain_1 Prison Architect has a modest selection of Materials at your disposal. Some of which can only be installed indoors, and others which can only be installed outside.
Tut_MaterialsExplain_2 You also have a selection of walls that can be installed in or around your prison.

Tut_MaterialsBuild_1 Let's begin by building a 26x14 foundation here.
Tut_MaterialsBuild_2 Remember, you can speed up time on the simulation so you don't have to wait too long for your Workmen to finish.
Tut_MaterialsBuild_3 Also, please build a door at the specified location.

Tut_MaterialsBuild2_1 Good. Now let's build some interior walls!
Tut_MaterialsBuild2_2 In the Materials menu, there are two wall types: Brick and Concrete. It's like building a foundation, except the Workmen only build the wall without a roof or beams or anything like that.
Tut_MaterialsBuild2_3 For the purposes of this tutorial, we're going to use Brick Walls. Just Left-Click and Drag within the highlighted areas.
Tut_MaterialsBuild2_4 Remember, if you make a mistake Right-Click on the item to cancel the job.

Tut_MaterialsBuild3_1 And now let's install some flooring!
Tut_MaterialsBuild3_2 In the Materials menu, there are some floor types to choose from. However, only a few of them can be installed inside a foundation.
Tut_MaterialsBuild3_3 Since the foundation is already built over Concrete Floors, just install the other types of indoor flooring. The method remains the same, Left-Click and Drag within the highlighted areas.

Tut_MaterialsBuild4_1 Good work. By now, you should know that you get charged money per each tile of Material you place. Some being more expensive than others.
Tut_MaterialsBuild4_2 For example, the Wooden Floors and Ceramic Floors cost $50 per tile, while the other indoor floors cost $10 per tile.
Tut_MaterialsBuild4_3 Another thing you may have found out is that each floor has a "Walk Speed." This means that any Prisoner or Staff member that walks over a "Slow" floor, will have their speed significantly reduced...
Tut_MaterialsBuild4_4 and walking over a "Fast" floor will increase their speed. This information can been seen by hovering your mouse over any material in the Materials menu.

Tut_MaterialsBuild5_1 Now, for the sake of time, we'll skip building the outside floor types and move ahead with some outside walls.
Tut_MaterialsBuild5_2 The Brick and Concrete walls aren't just for interior usage. You can also build them outside without the need for a foundation.

Tut_MaterialsBuild6_1 Build some walls that form a square shape here, and a door at the opening.
Tut_MaterialsBuild6_2 This will create a secure outdoor area that is accessible by the door. It's a nice touch for Yards or Kennels when you want the area to receive some sunlight during the day.
Tut_MaterialsBuild6_3 Again, for this tutorial, we will be using Brick Walls. Don't forget to rotate your door!

Tut_MaterialsBuild7_1 Good. Finally, let's build a Perimeter Wall.
Tut_MaterialsBuild7_2 This is a special kind of wall that is designed to slow the progress of Prisoners who are trying to dig their way out of your prison.
Tut_MaterialsBuild7_3 It's very effective when used to surround your prison. But for this tutorial, you're just going to build a small section of perimeter wall.

Tut_MaterialsBuild8 Build five tiles of it here.

Tut_MaterialsBuild9_1 Did you notice how long it took your Workmen to complete the Perimeter Walls? It has a very long construction time, and it also costs a lot of your hard-earned money.
Tut_MaterialsBuild9_2 But it is very useful at hindering escape attempts. So keep that in mind.

Tut_MaterialsConclude_1 Keep in mind, not every Material in the game is available to you.
Tut_MaterialsConclude_2 For example, this lake contains the special Material "Water" which is not available in the Materials menu.
Tut_MaterialsConclude_3 Water is a special material because it is impassable for both Prisoner and Staff, and nothing can be built over it.
Tut_MaterialsConclude_4 Essentially, it is an impenetrable wall.

Tut_MaterialsConclude2_1 A job well done architect!
Tut_MaterialsConclude2_2 You've learned the differences of materials, how and where to install them, the importance of the Perimeter Wall, and a few other things.
Tut_MaterialsConclude2_3 I think we're done here.

# PART 3 - ROOMS
# =============================================================================

Tut_RoomsIntro_1 Hello, and Welcome to the third part of this tutorial!
Tut_RoomsIntro_2 This part will guide you on how to properly make use of some of the rooms in the game.

Tut_RoomsExplain_1 In order for you to create a proper prison, you need to create rooms that do certain things.
Tut_RoomsExplain_2 In order for those rooms to work, you need to place the correct objects.
Tut_RoomsExplain_3 And in order for those objects to work, you need to hire the correct staff.
Tut_RoomsExplain_4 This part of the tutorial will explain all three of those things.

Tut_RoomsBuild_1 As you can see, a small administration building has already been constructed for you.
Tut_RoomsBuild_2 However, two of the rooms in this building are not yet complete. This is where you come in.

Tut_RoomsBuild2 First, go into the Rooms menu and label this room as an Office. The method is still the same, Left-Click and Drag.

Tut_RoomsBuild3_1 Take notice, the room displays a red warning icon. This indicates that the requirements for the room to function have not been met.
Tut_RoomsBuild3_2 Hovering your mouse over the room will show a tool-tip that lists what's missing. So let's solve that.

Tut_RoomsBuild4 Go into the Objects menu and select the Staff Door. Then install one at the entrance to this room.

Tut_RoomsBuild5 For some rooms, a door will satisfy the "Enclosed" requirement. Offices do not have this requirement, but a door does add some security.

Tut_RoomsBuild6_1 Now install the required objects for the Office. These would be the Office Desk, a Chair, and a Filing Cabinet.
Tut_RoomsBuild6_2 If you don't see all the objects, just click on the small plus icon on the bottom right corner of the objects menu.

Tut_RoomsBuild7 Now we need someone to work here. Let's hire an Accountant!

Tut_RoomsBuild8_1 Good! The Accountant is an administrator, and her job is to give you reports on your financial status, and the prison's valuation.
Tut_RoomsBuild8_2 Having an Accountant also enables you to hire more staff members, even if your hourly income goes in the red.

Tut_RoomsBuild9_1 These guys are also administrators, and they perform different tasks in your prison.
Tut_RoomsBuild9_2 On the top is the Warden. He allows you to start research on various improvements for your prison through the Bureaucracy menu.
Tut_RoomsBuild9_3 In the middle is the Chief. He enables you to research different security measures for your prison. He also allows you to view the prison's contraband history.
Tut_RoomsBuild9_4 And on the bottom is the Foreman. He can activate the many prison labour programs available for your prison. He can also unlock the cloning tool, which makes it easier to duplicate small parts of your prison.
Tut_RoomsBuild9_5 The administrator not shown here is the Psychologist. He gives you reports on the mental status of your prisoners. He also makes it easier to tell what needs need to be met so your prisoners can stay happy.

Tut_RoomsBuild10 Now, let's treat the accountant to some nice flooring. Install any indoor flooring material you wish in her office. Do the same for the bigger room to the north of this building.

Tut_RoomsBuild11 Good! Now label this room as a Staff Room.

Tut_RoomsBuild12 Like the Office, this room doesn't need to be enclosed with a door. It also doesn't need the extra security provided by a door. So just install the required objects.

Tut_RoomsBuild13_1 Unlike the Office, the Staff Room operates by itself.
Tut_RoomsBuild13_2 It speeds up the recovery rate of energy for your exhausted Staff Members. So it's an essential room to have in any prison!
Tut_RoomsBuild13_3 Let's move on to a new foundation!

Tut_RoomsBuild14 Build a 21x11 Foundation here with a Large Jail Door. Then follow the next few sets of instruction when shown on the To-do list.

Tut_RoomsBuild15 Good. Now label the room on the left a Kitchen, and the larger one on the right a Canteen. Then follow the next few sets of instruction.

Tut_RoomsBuild16_1 Good job. You now have a functioning Kitchen with some Cooks.
Tut_RoomsBuild16_2 Ingredients are automatically purchased for you, and delivered to your prison via Supply Truck.
Tut_RoomsBuild16_3 Either your Workman or Cooks will go to the Deliveries zone to pick up those ingredients, and then store them in one of the Fridges.
Tut_RoomsBuild16_4 When the time comes to feed your prisoners, the Cooks will place the ingredients on one of the Cookers in order to prepare it.
Tut_RoomsBuild16_5 And when your prisoners are done eating, your Cooks will take the empty food trays and clean them in the Sink to be reused later.

Tut_RoomsBuild17 We still need to finish the Canteen, so let's do that now.

Tut_RoomsBuild18_1 Well done. You've completed the Canteen.
Tut_RoomsBuild18_2 The Serving Table is the most important object in this room. When installed, your Cooks will take any available food trays and place them on the Serving Table.
Tut_RoomsBuild18_3 As soon as the food is ready, your Cooks will take the prepared meals to the Serving Table.
Tut_RoomsBuild18_4 And when it's time to eat, prisoners will flood into this room to get some food. They'll take the food from the Serving Table, and then they'll find a place to sit and eat.

Tut_RoomsBuild19 Now let's see how independent you are.

Tut_RoomsBuild20_1 Label a room, ANY room, at this location. Make sure ALL of it's requirements are met.
Tut_RoomsBuild20_2 However, I will not accept rooms that have less than two requirements, and I will not accept rooms that we've already done in this part of the tutorial!
Tut_RoomsBuild20_3 Remember, rooms that need to be Enclosed just need to be surrounded by Walls and a Door. Rooms that need to be Indoors MUST be inside a Foundation. This means you need to build a foundation FIRST for you to label those rooms.
Tut_RoomsBuild20_4 The highlighted area is for the room label. If you need to build a foundation, make sure it goes AROUND the highlighted zone. Otherwise, your room will be too small.
Tut_RoomsBuild20_5 Good Luck!

Tut_RoomsFinal1_1 Perfect! You've successfully built a Cell. [A pretty large one too!]
Tut_RoomsFinal1_2 Cells house your prisoners. It is their new "home away from home." For some prisoners, it will be that way for a very long time...
Tut_RoomsFinal1_3 Prisoners that don't have anything to do will occasionally return to their Cells for some privacy.
Tut_RoomsFinal1_4 When prisoners get into trouble while in your prison, they'll sometimes be forced to stay in their cell for some time. This is known as individual lockdown.
Tut_RoomsFinal1_5 And when it's time to go to sleep, prisoners will return to their own cells and sleep in their beds.

Tut_RoomsFinal2_1 Perfect! You've successfully built a Holding Cell.
Tut_RoomsFinal2_2 Holding Cells house prisoners who don't have their own personal cell. Essentially, this room holds the excess prisoners.
Tut_RoomsFinal2_3 However, prisoners will still use this cell as they would a normal cell. They'll sleep, wee and poo whenever they need to.
Tut_RoomsFinal2_4 Keep in mind, if this room gets too full of prisoners, it may cause some problems. Always keep some Guards near the area, or inside the room, to deter potential fights.

Tut_RoomsFinal3_1 Perfect! You've successfully built a Yard.
Tut_RoomsFinal3_2 Yards are where your prisoners can get some fresh air. They can also use the yard to exercise and get fit.
Tut_RoomsFinal3_3 [If built Indoors] Keep in mind, if this room gets too full of prisoners, it may cause some problems. Always keep some Guards near the area, or inside the room, to deter potential fights.

Tut_RoomsFinal4_1 Perfect! You've successfully built an Execution room.
Tut_RoomsFinal4_2 Unfortunately, the Execution room serves no purpose at the current stage of development for Prison Architect.

Tut_RoomsFinal5_1 Perfect! You've successfully built a Workshop.
Tut_RoomsFinal5_2 A Workshop is mainly used by your prisoners. However, they must first be taught how to use the equipment before they are allowed to enter the Workshop and use the tools.
Tut_RoomsFinal5_3 Your prisoners can convert the materials given to them (metal sheets, wooden logs) into valuables (wooden planks, license plates) that you can sell for some extra profit.
Tut_RoomsFinal5_4 The only drawbacks are that the tools use up a lot of power, and your prisoners have direct access to the tools which they can smuggle out of the Workshop.

Tut_RoomsFinal6_1 Perfect! You've successfully built a Security room.
Tut_RoomsFinal6_2 A Security room has very little use other than for Confidential Informants (CIs for short).
Tut_RoomsFinal6_3 Any CIs you recruit and activate will immediately be sent to a Security room where they can share what they know about the Contraband in your prison.
Tut_RoomsFinal6_4 Additionally, any nearby Guards that are free and have nothing to do will idle in the Security room.

Tut_RoomsFinal7_1 Perfect! You've successfully built an Infirmary.
Tut_RoomsFinal7_2 The Infirmary is the place where the injured go to get treated.
Tut_RoomsFinal7_3 The Doctors here don't care if the injury is serious or not, they'll heal anything that comes their way... except dead people.
Tut_RoomsFinal7_4 Guards that get injured will come here the moment their injury becomes serious. However, prisoners will need to be escorted here.

Tut_RoomsFinal8_1 Perfect! You've successfully built a Morgue.
Tut_RoomsFinal8_2 The Morgue is just that... a place to put the dead people.
Tut_RoomsFinal8_3 Dead bodies placed here will stay here until a Hearse arrives. The bodies will then be placed on the Hearse and driven off. Never to be seen again.

Tut_RoomsFinal9_1 Perfect! You've successfully built a Laundry room.
Tut_RoomsFinal9_2 The Laundry room is mainly used by your prisoners.
Tut_RoomsFinal9_3 It's where the prisoner's jumpsuits are washed and ironed to be reused again.
Tut_RoomsFinal9_4 Whenever you receive more prisoners, new jumpsuits will be automatically purchased, delivered via Supply Truck, and placed in the Laundry room.

Tut_RoomsFinal10_1 Perfect! You've successfully built a Visitation room.
Tut_RoomsFinal10_2 The Visitation room is where your prisoners go to meet with their families, friends, or lawyers.
Tut_RoomsFinal10_3 Visitors are only allowed to visit from 8am - 8pm. No exceptions.
Tut_RoomsFinal10_4 Finally, prisoners can smuggle contraband into your prison from their visits. So keep a watchful eye on this room.

Tut_RoomsFinal11_1 Perfect! You've successfully built a Cleaning Cupboard.
Tut_RoomsFinal11_2 The Cleaning Cupboard is mainly used by your Janitors, but prisoners can also work here.
Tut_RoomsFinal11_3 Bleach will automatically be purchased and delivered to your prison via Supply Truck when you build this room.
Tut_RoomsFinal11_4 Take notice, if you hire prisoners to work in this room, there is a chance they'll smuggle some poisonous contraband from the bleach.

Tut_RoomsFinal12_1 Perfect! You've successfully built a Kennel.
Tut_RoomsFinal12_2 A Kennel is where your Dog Handlers and Guard Dogs stay.
Tut_RoomsFinal12_3 When the Guard Dogs go out on patrol, they get tired very quickly. Therefore, they need a place to rest and a Dog Crate is the perfect place.
Tut_RoomsFinal12_4 Installing more Dog Crates will allow more dogs to rest at any given time. If there are not enough Dog Crates, the Guard Dogs will not rest.

Tut_RoomsFinal13_1 Perfect! You've successfully built an Armoury.
Tut_RoomsFinal13_2 An Armoury is where your Armed Guards stay when they have nothing to do. However, when your Armed Guards get exhausted, they'll return here instead of using the Staff Room.
Tut_RoomsFinal13_3 Additionally, when you research Stab Vests or Tasers, your Guards and other security staff members will get their new equipment from the Armoury.
Tut_RoomsFinal13_4 Finally, if a Riot occurs in your prison, prisoners will attempt to break into the Armoury in order to arm themselves with some ranged weapons to aid in their escape from your prison.

Tut_RoomsFinal14_1 Perfect! You've successfully built a Forestry zone.
Tut_RoomsFinal14_2 The Forestry zone is where trees are automatically planted and cut down in order to produce wooden logs for your Workshop.
Tut_RoomsFinal14_3 You can also sell the wooden logs immediately without having to wait for the Workshop to produce wooden planks.
Tut_RoomsFinal14_4 Your Gardeners are in charge of planting the trees while the Workman are in charge of cutting them down.

Tut_RoomsFinal15_1 Perfect! You've successfully built a Classroom.
Tut_RoomsFinal15_2 The Classroom is where your prisoners learn the fundamental lessons of life from the Programs report menu.
Tut_RoomsFinal15_3 Prisoners who attend and pass courses in your Classroom will usually have a less re-offending rate when they leave your prison.
Tut_RoomsFinal15_4 The Teacher, who is an external staff member, is the one who runs the Classroom. The prisoners will be seated in the School Desks.

Tut_RoomsChoice_1 Now, clicking on any of these switches will open a small menu on the right side of the screen. There will be a few options to choose from, one of which is to turn on the switch.
Tut_RoomsChoice_2 If you want to go back and practice building another room, turn on the switch to the left.
Tut_RoomsChoice_3 If you want to end this part of the tutorial, turn on the switch to the right.

Tut_RoomsPractice [Now taking you back to the practice section]

Tut_RoomsConclude_1 A job well done architect!
Tut_RoomsConclude_2 You've learned how to label rooms, install the required objects for the rooms, how to hire the correct staff for the rooms, and a few others things.
Tut_RoomsConclude_3 I think we're done here.

# PART 4 - UTILITIES
# =============================================================================

Tut_UtilitiesIntro_1 Hello, and Welcome to the fourth part of this tutorial!
Tut_UtilitiesIntro_2 This part will guide you on how to quickly install and use electrical cables and water pipes.

Tut_UtilitiesExplain_1 In the previous parts of this tutorial, electricity and water were already provided to you. However, this part of the tutorial changes that.
Tut_UtilitiesExplain_2 In front of you is a newly created prison that is still missing the two essential resources.

Tut_UtilitiesExplain2_1 As you can see, every room in this prison has a flashing thunderbolt or droplet icon. This indicates that an object is missing a resource.
Tut_UtilitiesExplain2_2 The majority of thunderbolt icons stem from the indoor lighting fixtures, and the majority of droplet icons stem from the toilets in each cell.
Tut_UtilitiesExplain2_3 So let's fix these issues.

Tut_UtilitiesBuild In this small room, we're going to install a Power Station.

Tut_UtilitiesBuild2 Go into the Utilities menu and install one here. Remember to speed up time so you don't have to wait too long!

Tut_UtilitiesBuild3 Did you notice how the visuals changed when you entered the Utilities menu?

Tut_UtilitiesBuild4_1 This is where you can see all of the electrical cables and water pipes installed under your prison.
Tut_UtilitiesBuild4_2 As you can see, this prison already has some cables installed. So let's utilize them.

Tut_UtilitiesBuild5 Go into the Utilities menu and install some electrical cables here. This will connect the already existing cable to your Power Station.

Tut_UtilitiesBuild6 Good! Now there's electricity running through the administration building, the entrance hall, and the Holding Cell.

Tut_UtilitiesBuild7_1 If you look closely, most of the electrical cables in the administration building are installed only in the hallway.
Tut_UtilitiesBuild7_2 This is because the cables DON'T need to be installed directly over the light fixtures in order for them to receive power.
Tut_UtilitiesBuild7_3 However, the cables do have a limited range. Tiles that are coloured green are receiving power, while grey coloured tiles are not.

Tut_UtilitiesBuild8_1 Let's move on to the first cell block.
Tut_UtilitiesBuild8_2 You may have noticed that a Pipe Valve and a Power Switch are installed next to the building.

Tut_UtilitiesBuild9_1 Going back to the Utilities view, you can see that this building already has electrical cable installed, and the Power Switch is preventing power from going into those cables.
Tut_UtilitiesBuild9_2 To turn the switch on, click on it and select "Switch On" from the menu that appears on the right.

Tut_UtilitiesBuild10_1 The Power Station got overloaded!
Tut_UtilitiesBuild10_2 This will occur when the demand for power is too high. As a protective measure against damage, the Power Station will shut itself down if it cannot meet the high demand.
Tut_UtilitiesBuild10_3 To fix this, go into the Utilities menu and install some Capacitors.

Tut_UtilitiesBuild11 Install five of them above the Power Station. Then turn the Power Station back on the same way you did with the Power Switch.

Tut_UtilitiesBuild12 Good! You've restored power, and about half of the prison has electricity running through it.

Tut_UtilitiesBuild13_1 Take notice, the black bar on the left of the Power Station is the power demand meter.
Tut_UtilitiesBuild13_2 The red part represents how much power the prison is demanding from the Power Station.
Tut_UtilitiesBuild13_3 Right now, not much demand exists. Therefore, five capacitors is more than enough.

Tut_UtilitiesBuild14 Now let's work on the Canteen and the Kitchen.

Tut_UtilitiesBuild15_1 You may have noticed that the appliances in the Kitchen have a much larger thunderbolt icon than the light fixtures.
Tut_UtilitiesBuild15_2 This means that these objects require a direct line of cable to be installed in them.

Tut_UtilitiesBuild16 In the Utilities view, you can see that these objects already have electric cable coming off of them.

Tut_UtilitiesBuild17_1 So, install some electrical cable leading into the Kitchen from the already powered electrical cable above.
Tut_UtilitiesBuild17_2 I want you to power each appliance, and power each light fixture in both the Kitchen and the Canteen.

Tut_UtilitiesBuild18 Good! Keep in mind that appliances like the Cooker and Fridge demand a lot of power from your Power Station.

Tut_UtilitiesBuild19_1 As you can see, the red bar on the left has risen since the last time we saw it.
Tut_UtilitiesBuild19_2 Remember, if that red bar reaches the highest point, the Power Station will shut down due to the high power demand.

Tut_UtilitiesBuild20 Now let's give some water to this prison.

Tut_UtilitiesBuild21 Install a Water Pump Station here.

Tut_UtilitiesBuild22 Take notice, the red bar on the Power Station went up some more.

Tut_UtilitiesBuild23_1 This is because we placed the Water Pump Station on top of the live electrical cable we installed earlier.
Tut_UtilitiesBuild23_2 The Water Pump Station does require a lot of power for it to function. However, you only need to install one Water Pump Station for the whole prison.

Tut_UtilitiesBuild24 Now, I want you to install some pipes leading up to the first cell block. So go into the Utilities menu and use the Large Pipes to complete this task.

Tut_UtilitiesBuild25 Keep in mind, you cannot install pipes (or cables) through a Perimeter Wall. You'll have to go around it.

Tut_UtilitiesBuild26 Good!

Tut_UtilitiesBuild27_1 The reason why I asked you to only use Large Pipes is because they have a very high amount of pressure. In other words, the Large Pipes can move Water for long distances.
Tut_UtilitiesBuild27_2 Large Pipes cost $15 per tile and can push Water up to an approximate of 760 tiles. However, prisoners will use the Large Pipes to dig an escape tunnel much more quickly, so have prudence where you install them.
Tut_UtilitiesBuild27_3 The Small Pipes can only push Water for a shorter distance of 40 tiles, but they are much cheaper at just $2 per tile.
Tut_UtilitiesBuild27_4 As seen here, all you need to do is install a Small or Large pipe under an object in order to pump Water to it.

Tut_UtilitiesBuild28 Now, I want you to finish the rest of the prison.

Tut_UtilitiesBuild29 Make sure the other Cell Block has Electricity running through every Cell, and make sure Water is being pumped through every Toilet and Shower Head.

Tut_UtilitiesBuild30 Ensure this small Solitary Block has Water being pumped into these Toilets.

Tut_UtilitiesBuild31 The Sinks in the Kitchen need Water pumped through them.

Tut_UtilitiesBuild32 Get Electricity running through the Common Room, Staff Room, and the Psychologist's Office.

Tut_UtilitiesBuild33 The Infirmary and Morgue need to get Powered.

Tut_UtilitiesBuild34 The Visitation room also needs Power.

Tut_UtilitiesBuild35 And finally, the shower area of the Holding Cell needs Water.

Tut_UtilitiesBuild36_1 Use the first Cell Block as an example of how to install cable and pipes in the second Cell Block.
Tut_UtilitiesBuild36_2 If you ever make a mistake, you can use the "Dismantle Utility" button. It is located in the Utilities menu.
Tut_UtilitiesBuild36_3 Good Luck!

Tut_UtilitiesExtra_1 Perfect! You've successfully Powered and Watered the entire prison!
Tut_UtilitiesExtra_2 But there's still a few more things I need to go over before we're done.

Tut_UtilitiesExtra2 As you can see here, Power Stations can only hold up to a maximum of 16 Capacitors, and they MUST be installed around the station.

Tut_UtilitiesExtra3 If you're power demand becomes too much for one Power Station to handle, then you can build another station with it's own set of Capacitors.

Tut_UtilitiesExtra4 Each Power Station will have a different colour for it's powered cables and zones. This makes it easier for you to distinguish one from all the others.

Tut_UtilitiesExtra5 You cannot link the power grid of one Power Station to another Power Station. Otherwise, they'll conflict with each other and both will shut down.

Tut_UtilitiesExtra6 Finally, you should never wet your Power Station. Otherwise, you'll end up losing a lot of money to repairs...

Tut_UtilitiesConclude_1 A job well done architect!
Tut_UtilitiesConclude_2 You've learned how to install and use a Power Station and a Water Pump Station, and how to add utilities to a prison.
Tut_UtilitiesConclude_3 I think we're done here.
